A New York Times/Siena poll of likely voters, reported on Oct. 3, found Brown ahead of Husted 49% to 46%, and Acton ahead of Ramaswamy 49% to 45%.
Trump criticized Senate Democrats who blocked Husted's Ratepayer Protection Act, aimed at limiting higher utility costs linked to data centers, and pledged to sign it if Congress sends it to his desk. "I will sign this Ratepayer Protection Act into law immediately," Trump said, according to Fox News. Of data centers, he said: "We want them. Look, there's so much money to be made for Ohio. You can't just turn them off. They'll go to China," according to NBC News and Fox News.
Husted told reporters before the rally that Trump "won Ohio by 11 points in the last election, and if we get those same voters to turn out in this election, we'll win," NBC News reported.
