Poland had begun the group with a goalless draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina and a 3-1 defeat away to Sweden.

The result lifted Poland to four points from three matches and third place in Group B4, keeping them in contention for promotion to League A. Romania remain fourth. Gheorghe Hagi, in his second spell as Romania coach, became the first Romania manager to lose his first three competitive matches, according to BBC Sport.
Poland next travel to Zenica to face Bosnia and Herzegovina. Lewandowski will miss that fixture after collecting a second yellow card of the campaign against Romania. The winners of Group B4 earn automatic promotion to League A, with the runners-up entering the promotion play-offs.
