Latvia Exit Polls Put Kulbergs' United List Ahead as Coalition Partners Stumble

Security and cost of living
The campaign was dominated by concern over Russia's security threat and cost-of-living pressures in Latvia, the poorest Baltic state. An EU and NATO member since 2004, Latvia allocates nearly 5% of GDP to defence after Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, France 24 and Al Jazeera reported. Sigita Struberga of the Latvian transatlantic association LATO told AFP it was too early to predict the shape of any future coalition and that official percentages might differ slightly from exit polls.
