As of Saturday morning, civil defence crews were still working at the Remal site while air activity continued overhead, Al Jazeera reported. Neither side released an immediate detailed account of the intended target of the Remal strike. Israeli officials often say they strike military infrastructure or militants operating from civilian areas; Palestinian officials and residents describe many of those strikes as hitting family homes with little or no warning.
Independent verification inside Gaza remains limited because of access restrictions, damaged communications and the risks of reporting under fire. The Candor Post’s account relies on hospital and health-official figures carried by Al Jazeera and Reuters, plus on-the-ground reporting attributed to Al Jazeera from southern Gaza. Further updates on the death toll, the identities of the dead and any Israeli military statement may follow as searches of the damaged building continue and as monitors gather more information from Remal and al-Shifa.
